The programme moves through states of wonder, longing, fear, and surrender, tracing how humans have sought connection with forces beyond themselves through myth, poetry, and song.
Featuring music by composers such as Rebecca Clarke, Lili and Nadia Boulanger, Joseph Schwantner, and Claude Debussy, the programme weaves together a rich tapestry of styles — from jazz-inspired lyricism to folk song, from modern expression to impressionist colour.
